Paratexts as a component of Ksenia Starosielska’s translation strategies. Based on Hanna Krall’s ”Zdążyć przed Panem Bogiem” (”To Make it Before God”

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the matter of paratexts as a definite kind of translator’s solutions revealing the translation strategy. There have been analysed such paratexts as an introduction and notes, placed in Russian version of Hanna Krall’s text Zdążyć przed Panem Bogiem translated by Ksenia Staroselskaya. The translator’s notes are divided into several groups according to their topics; especial attention is paid to the ways of abbreviations’ interpretation, as they are often accompanied by translation shifts. Finally, there has been specified a distinctive function hierarchy of the translator’s notes in the examined text.
