Summary/Abstract: Presented actions concern the quest for new teaching methods associated with teachers education at Art Education in the field of visual arts at University of Silesia in Katowice, Art Institute in Cieszyn, Poland. A current situation of art is characterised by complexity. On the one hand, it is caused by theoretical context of modernism and pop culture invasion, on the other, the appearance of new media in art, such as intermedia, multimedia activities, artnet, and other art practices. Teachers have to face new tasks of the new reality. Preparing young teachers to confront them, we should not forget about the complexity of the problem and not to restrict only to traditional activities and history of art (the value of masterpieces). Interdisciplinary approach to one’s participation in a visual culture seems to be the right solution. New teaching standards in Poland can serve as examples of interdisciplinary activities, which are focused on broadly understood categories, such as man and the media, and to a lesser extent, describe art techniques. A discussion brought by universities dealing with teachers education aims at the quest for new concepts and methods. A team of lecturers of the Department of Interdisciplinary Art Creation has undertaken a wide variety of art educational actions. In their frameworks, there were used both traditional techniques, virtual reality, as well as augmented reality.
