University of the Third Age as an Institution Preventing Marginalization of the Elderly

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the role of the Third Age University in counteracting the effects of mar- ginalization of the elderly. The history of the University of Third Age was presented and also different models of this institution was characterized. The paper presents new trends in research conducted by participants of UTA and shown their relation with marginalization.
