Summary/Abstract: The study aims to analyze and evaluate the Social Studies Curriculum in the Teacher Training Schools and Village Institutes Program prepared in 1953 in Turkey. In the study, the document analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. In Turkey, social studies was first taught as a course in Teacher Training Schools. There are many studies in the literature about the historical development of the social studies course in Turkey. However, in most of these studies, no information was given about the 1953 Social Studies Curriculum (SSC). In some studies, the program took place with explanations of only a few sentences. In this sense, the examination on the 1953 Social Studies Curriculum will shed light on the historical background of the social studies course. At the same time, such a review will make new contributions to the field of Turkish education history. Historical research method was used in the study.
