Summary/Abstract: Sustainable economy appears to be an academic topic of interest in economics and finance. However, studying the process of integrating sustainability factors into the business environment, analyzing the legal effects of mandatory sustainability reporting standards, and the role of European authorities of financial supervision in sustainable financing and in combating certain crimes shows the importance of researching the convergence of the upcoming European legislative package on sustainable corporate governance and business criminal law. The present work offers the opportunity to reflect on the mechanisms to combat economic-financial crime by promoting sustainable corporate governance.
