Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the changes in the rite of presbyteral ordination after Second Vatican Council. The analysis has a semiotic and linguistic character and refers to the meaning of liturgical signs and the implementation of the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy. What is examined are the changes in composition, the signs used and the prayers. The thesis assumes to view the rite of the ordination as a form of admission to ordo, which is understood as a specific form of living, and simultaneously as a sacrament, which most important part involves putting hands on and the consecration prayer, which are respectively the matter and the form of the sacrament. The analysis leads to the conclusion that the post-conciliar reform shows this aspect in a much better wayand lets the participants and witnesses focus on the central point of the rite, which is the aforementioned matter and form.
