Summary/Abstract: The study presents the process of joining of Hungary to the European Union from 1989 to 2004. The first step of this process was the entry of Hungary to the European Council. The author analyses the political, economical and international conditions of the joining of Hungary to the Union and she presents the activity of the Hungarian governments of this period.
