Summary/Abstract: In "The World, a Moment on Trial" (Próba chwili świata) Stanisław Swen Czachorowski reaches back to the pre-war literary tradition, to the formula of a love story, and endeavours to capture the experience of a moment, an impression. The same volume contains "The Scene Brought Unto Us" (Pejzaż doczekany) – a stylized short form in which the author employs well-known means of expression, exaggerating and taking them to extremes. Tracing the changes introduced in successive versions of the text highlights the significance of seemingly minor stylistic decisions that turn out to be crucial for the consistency of its composition.
