Summary/Abstract: The article aims to present differences between financial statements prepared under IFRSs and under the Polish Accounting Act, using as example two public companies traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The analysis covers the same reporting period, represented according to two different financial accounting stan-dards. The article includes a short description of differences in the presentation of statements of: financial position, comprehensive income, changes in equity and cash flows, drawn up in accordance with IFRSs and the Polish Accounting Act. The liquidity analysis has been carried out and indicators of cash conversion cycle, debt and profitability have been calculated, based on consolidated financial statements under IFRSs and under PAS (Polish Accounting Standards). Results of the analysis indicate that the consolidated statement prepared according to IRFSs shows a worse economic situation of the Group, which is caused by stricter presentation requirements for non-current liabilities and board members' motivation program being included in the costs. EU standards regulating business activity are designed to give investors a full picture of a business entity. A statement is drawn up in accordance with IFRSs if an investor, after an analysis of such a statement, re-ceives a full picture of an entity’s financial condition, and his knowledge is compa-rable to that of the management.
