Summary/Abstract: From a cultural perspective, cognition is distributed through time, among person and a culturally organized environment, and among persons in socially organized settings. In the first part of this paper interaction is analysed as a socio-epistemological phenomena. This part provided the foundation for analyses made in this text – the nature of teachers’ interaction within school was discussed, with an emphasis on the fact that teachers do not have to rely solely on themselves and their own experimental learning. Some models of supervision and evaluation are presented as well as opportunities to observe and discuss expertise. Without such opportunities, teachers are left with trial and error – the main technique for developing expertise. The potential of a social network for teachers learning is also emphasised.
