Summary/Abstract: The present article provides an outline of what makes knowledge to be knowledge and, in particular, of what is special with psychological knowledge. In the first part it is sketched a short genesis of scientific knowledge. In the second analyzes the major factors that affect directly psychological knowledge production, not only in the past, when it was in process of configuration, but even much stronger nowadays in the age of chaotic mobs: the symbiotic character of scientific and folk psychology, the peculiarity of its object, and the obligation to emulate the practices of the more prestigious sciences and the requirement to produce that kind of knowledge considered to be practically and useful for certain potential consumers of the knowledge, either public, media, or researchers in other disciplines. It is emphasis the process of how the later one affects and deforms the harmonious growth of an original psychological knowledge.
