Summary/Abstract: Climate change is one of the most serious global threats that endanger both the environment and health. It is considered that the phenomenon, associated with the greenhouse effect, could be limited by reducing the greenhouse gas emissions through measures aimed at the sectors responsible for their generation in the atmosphere. Given that, the activities that are taking place in the energy sector contributes more than two-thirds of the total greenhouse gas emissions, the efforts are directed towards the source reduction, through viable sustainable development policies of this sector, in terms of energy security.
