Summary/Abstract: Considering the current economic conditions, marked by a strong economic and financial instability, the concept of corporate governance has received a special attention, being the objective of numerous investigations both nationally and especially internationally. A better corporate governance can have as an effect an improvement in the performance of firms, continuous performance representing the objective of any organizations because only high performance organizations are able to grow and progress. For the reasons mentioned above the main objectives of this paper are focused on two key concepts namely, corporate governance and organizational performance. More specifically, we are interested in conducting an overview of the studies aimed at identifying the relationship between the two concepts/variables named above, with an identification of the main empirical errors found in such studies.
