Summary/Abstract: Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. Some people consider that project management is the same with program management, but technically that is actually a higher level construction, meaning that it represents a group of related and somehow interdependent engineering projects. Due to the increasing importance of the Project Management nowadays, we have decided to approach this very important subject, presenting at first, the meaning of project management all over the world, including its place in Romania, then stressing some interesting issues in the long history of project management, and which were the most common fields in which it had been approached, after that we have presented some interesting software methods that enable the use of project management, we have stated some important methods that help you get a certificate in project management in Romania, but also abroad, even by accessing on - line specialized courses.
