Summary/Abstract: Our research entitled “Emerging Markets – New Challenges of the Contemporary Society” brings into attention the problems closely related to the worlds continuous development, stressing without doubt the case of strong emerging markets, in an era in which the accent moved from spending and chaotic consumerism to reason, freedom of choice, good quality, and both new and better horizons. Firstly, at the beginning of our research, we covered the ground of emerging markets in terms of definitions, role, importance, main factors of influence and tendencies in the next future. We see extremely strong family businesses and entrepreneurs in the emerging markets, today and the specialist predict already that their future is bright; even if it was a little bit shadowed by the economic crisis. Secondly, the next part of the study that we made highlights the literature review upon the topic of emerging markets, into a favorable context in which, more than ever before, the factors work in the favor of their development and clear ascension. Even if the world has a shortage of capital globally, the growth countries are competing for capital with the developed world, and that is probably the main reason why the family conglomerates must be at the top of their game to compete for scarce capital. Thirdly, the next step of our study went into the area where it stresses upon what must a family business focus on the long - term, on the future, to be successful, and what it takes to be the best in its field, to be able to compete against the largest global players. The main idea here is for these particular firms to understand and to have in mind constantly that they compete against foreign firms, so their quality must be better than theirs. All in all our research stresses some case studies on emerging markets and which are the key sectors that exist now and will exist and properly develop in the future.
