Summary/Abstract: For economic analysts and other individuals directly involved into Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) phenomenon, inevitably a question arises of how much FDI will be in the near and far future. The answer and arguments which is going to form the basis of some estimations have to be situated in the context of financial and economic context, taking into consideration the measures that might be taken by the policy makers. The study focuses on FDI having a crucial role on economic and social development for Romania and other similar countries. It is studied from different points of view and levels of FDI transformation into economic growth. The purpose is to prove that a much more attentive and close research of FDI provides new perspectives and it can even lead to new conclusions which consistently differs from those ones presented and overused on different media channels.
