Summary/Abstract: The point of this article is to highlight two fundamental semantic relations, the synonymy and the antonymy, found in the Biblical text. The interchangeable character of the words in the same context is a basic criterion by which the synonymy is established. Component phenomenon, the synonymy is highlighted through a common semical core. The variety of the language is given by the synonymic richness. Antonymy is freer from the context, with the compulsory presence of the incompatible contrary sign for lexemes in opposition. The proposed text analysis, practical in nature, captures the combinatorial possibilities of the language as well as the characteristics of the lexical classes: synonymy and antonymy.
