Summary/Abstract: Research on railway infrastructure of mining companies is based solely on the study of archive material located in the Croatian State Archives. The article includes the period of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes / Yugoslavia (1918-1941). In addition to the railway infrastructure of the mining companies, in accordance with the elements of international archival standards ISAAR (CPF), the article delineates their administrative history. Among the many existing mining companies and their railway infrastructure, nine are presented in greater detail, as follows: 1) Adria-Bauxit, mining and industrial PLC, Zagreb, 2) Continental bauksit mining and industrial PLC, Zagreb, 3) Doberlin coal-mining PLC, Zagreb, 4) Golubovečki coalmines PLC, Zagreb, 5) Mining Association of staro-golubovečki light coalmines Zagreb, 6) Mirna coalmining PLC, Zagreb, 7) Pitomačko-črešnjevački coalmines PLC, Zagreb, 8) United mines and smelters JSC, Zagreb and 9) Coalmine Peklenica, Karlo Vargazon LP, Mursko Središće. The mining industry was one of the strongest industries in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes / Yugoslavia, both in number and in capital, as well as by the diversity of production. The procurement and a high quality of railway infrastructure, without which the development of the economy and the exploitation of the mines could not have been imagined was, therefore, of great importance.
