Summary/Abstract: In my research I want to bring up to date the vision of the Great John Chrysostom regarding repentance and how it marks the state of Christian conversion. St. John Chrysostom is considered to be a teacher of repentance and charity. The great antiochian often mentioned the close connection between repentance and mercy. Christian conversion is above all an existential experience. God changes the heart and life of man and converts it to to the person and work of Jesus Christ. As we see in our approach, there is an intrinsic connection between Christian conversion and repentance. Christian conversion is a primordial act of repentance which should become an very important issue wich define the Christian life in Christ.
