Summary/Abstract: In this review, the author indi- cates the damage that can be caused by writing scientific texts to prove a precon- ceived thesis. According to Oleksiy Toločko and his team, The Galician-Volhynian Chron- icle (Romanovichi Chronicle) is a late mediae- val source. Their claim that its compilation began after 1264, and that the final text was developed after 1292 is open to question, but a significant part of the analysis carried out by the Kyiv researchers aims to substanti- ate this thesis. Nevertheless, the text under review contains some high-quality analysis of individual fragments of the Chronicle.
