Summary/Abstract: Children with social disadvantages tend to achieve significantly lower educational outcomes than those from more advantaged social backgrounds. This study examines the effectiveness and relevance of integration programmes in Hungary that provide opportunities for disadvantaged Roma youth to improve their skills through arts-based interventions. The overview of the programmes is based on a literature review on equal opportunities and inclusion of Roma students in Hungary. The literature review is supplemented by two professional interviews. According to the research results, Roma inclusion programmes in Hungary are mostly based on traditional art forms and only in a few exceptional cases do Roma inclusion projects use digital technology to incorporate media-based art forms such as digital graphics, photography, or video into their programmes. The study also presents the Roma Cultural Influencer training of Corvinus University of Budapest as a national good practice, using modern technology and digital art forms. The study contributes to the academic discourse on the integration of Roma youth in schools, with a special focus on the integration opportunities offered by arts and arts education.
