Summary/Abstract: As a result of the rise of social media, the proliferation of user-generated content, and, consequently, electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM), tourism communication has undergone major changes within the past 10-15 years. User-generated content(UGC), and more precisely, online travel reviews (OTR) influence how target customers perceive a certain destination. The current paper proposes to analyse the image of Romania, as a tourism destination based on UGC on Tripadvisor, considered as one of the main online platforms for OTR. The results provide some valuable insights into trends, preferences, and opinions from the demand side, that can serve as a basis for future research and can be utilized by destination managers engaged in branding strategies
