Summary/Abstract: My intention, within this paper, is to highlight the writing particularities of a text written with a cyrillic alphabet, at the end of the 17th century, „Epistolă şi panegiric greco-român adresate lui Constantin Brâncoveanu (ms. BAR 766)”. After a brief presentation of the two ways of rendering a text written with a cyrillic alphabet (transliteration and interpretative transcription), including the advantages and the disavantages of each method, I brought arguments for the method I used in order to render the cyrillic text, that is, the method of the phonetic transcription, which allows keeping the phonetic and graphic features of the original text; I also clarified the situation of the letters with multiple values. Consequently, I presented the list of the letters that can be found along the text, giving examples for each letter and insisting, with several details, on the situations which bring dificulties for the interpretation of the phonematic value, like the following ones: using more letters for rendering one sound, represented by one sign in the latin alphabet (o - Σ, ñ - t, u - ¨), or, using more letters for rendering the same phonological segment (å, æ, ™ - õ, ß), or, the use of some letters that were kept just for some traditional customs, without having any phonetic value (´), or using letters that come from the Slavonian alphabet (ç˚ - ¡), or, using special letters for words that have a Greek origin(√, ô).
