Summary/Abstract: Is it even necessary to say that this simple title initially gives rise to a large number of questions regarding the definition of the very concept of irony and its appearance and role in the poetic opus of Nikola Šop. It is not the first time that this complex, ambiguous, slightly elusive term has been mentioned in the pages of critical literature about him. But so far it has been more like an incidental statement, certainly appropriate of course, but not well explained, analysed, in comparison with other and different interpretations (of Šop’s) humorous imagination, which may or may not include irony.
