Summary/Abstract: Saint Pimen of Zographou also known as Pimen of Sofia is a Bulgarian monk who lived on Mount Athos and had been recognised as a saint since the seventeenth century. A brief part of his life is presented by Paisius of Hilandar in a chapter dedicated to the Bulgarian saints in his Istoriya slavyanobalgarska. Pimen is mentioned as an icon painter who renovated monasteries and had a literary activity. All this data is confirmed by his notes in manuscripts stored in the National Library of Bulgaria. Other information about Pimen is derived from his Vita. Although in the past the memory of him was not spread everywhere, today Saint Pimen is ranked again among the Bulgarian saints. His memory is honored by Christians today, as it was encouraged by Paisius.
