Summary/Abstract: The practice of modern urban living among young people implies improvement in theirs' socioeconomic status. The economic crisis that the population of R. Macedonia has been facing for decades led to theirs further stratification and most endangered are the youngsters in High School. In this context, the young people in our country are searching for variety of forms that will bring to them a realization of their long dreamt goal which is getting rich quickly. In the paper i.e. a theoretical empirical study, I focus on the phenomenon of gambling and sports betting among the high school population, focusing on detecting of this deviant phenomenon, considering its obstruction by the family and school. Our purpose in the paper is answering the question of whether the instinct to get rich quickly lies in betting, or it is perceived as entertainment, filling free time, a way of socializing with peers, thus overcoming social isolation, exclusion and identity crisis. Families and school impact through its educational curriculum regarding protecting the young person from the deviant phenomenon detected in sports betting and other forms of betting it is been taken in consideration. The paper is also discussing the issue of dislocating the sports betting shops at a suitable distance from educational institutions and whether it effects positively tracing the path of a creative young person.
