Summary/Abstract: Phonetics and phonology are considered as branches of linguistics. Their main domain is revealed by the manner in which the sounds are produced, sent and received by the addressee. Unlike phonetics, phonology is also a discipline of linguistics that deals with the sounds of a language from the perspective of their functional value, establishing the characteristics of different variants (d.e. functional phonetics) and the systems of phonemes specific to a certain idiom.
