Summary/Abstract: The present paper is an attempt to find successful approaches while teaching Romanian as a foreign language based on my 16 years in the field of teaching Romanian to foreign teenagers and adults. Each of the students studies/ed in Romanian as a foreign language in the preparatory year before completing their Bachelor’s, Master, PhD or medical residency. I drew my conclusions based on my experience in class, as well as from the feedback I have from my fellow colleagues and from the evaluations of the courses and teaching methods provided by our students along the years.
