THE CONCEPT OF NEOLOGY

Summary/Abstract: This study involves a conceptualization of the concept of neology and starts from the statement that neology works in parallel with lexicography and lexicology. The main objective of this study is to approach with arguments the perspective of the term neology. The descriptive-linguistic and comparative method allowed us some conclusions, including a theoretical approach to the conceptualization of this term. In both general language and Romanian linguistics there is a difference of perception regarding the neological aspect of a word, thus identifying various meanings of some researchers from both general linguistics and Romanian linguistics regarding this concept.
