Summary/Abstract: Our approach aims to present the intersection point of the novels The Photo Library. Theme and Variations by Adriana Bittel and The Photographer of Royal Court by Simona Antonescu: the two books meet around the symbol of the photo as a means of capturing the ephemerality of significant moments. Adriana Bittel’s highly subjective voice focuses on the witness of numerous destinies, a woman who guards the photo library of a magazine, both her job and the meaning of her life. The protagonist of Simona Antonescu’s novel, a successful photographer in the Belle Epoque Bucharest, is also a keeper of his contemporaries’ history.
