Summary/Abstract: On March 8, 1872, the newly elected Bulgarian Exarch Antim I left Vidin for Constantinople. The author traces the enthusiasm of the people from the Bulgarian towns and villages who escorted him. The names of famous Bulgarians who appeared at the end of the Ottoman rule are mentioned.
