Methods of therapeutic work with aphasia patients

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the treatment of patients with aphasia – a disorder of speech expression and/or reception. The introduction defines the concept of aphasia and language development disorders. Then, the conditions of diagnosis have been discussed, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in the process and its importance for the selection of appropriate forms of therapeutic interaction. The next part of the article is a review of therapeutic methods in aphasia treatment with a reflection on specialist qualifications necessary to achieve therapeutic goals (as well as an attempt to formulate them), including alternative and augmentative communication methods (AAC).
