Summary/Abstract: Disability as a theoretical issue is a key component of the curriculum in special education studies. Including interdisciplinary knowledge about disability in the program of studies in this field is the implementation of critical postulates formulated based on disability studies. The article highlights the didactic possibilities and challenges related to the implementation of the subject of “disability research” within the uniform master’s studies in the field of special education. The key theoretical contexts of contemporary knowledge about disability have been indicated, such as: the eco-ableism trend, cripping education and culture, new materialism, and disability justice.
