Summary/Abstract: Love is one of the most challenging literary themes when it comes to the novel, as there are a lot perspectives this feeling may embrace. The transformation love implies is usually linked to his unfiltered capacity of fulfilling the human being. One of Tolstoi’s most important novel, “Anna Karenina”, certifies the link between two demanding literary themes: love and death. Inspired by a real story, an unhappy love of Alexander Pushkin's daughter, Maria Hartung, the book is, in fact, a fresco of Russia in the second half of the 19th century, in the center of which the heroine's life story unfolds main. An adulterous, devastating love forces Anna Karenina to leave her husband and child and transforms her from a respected member of the aristocracy into a despised person.
