Summary/Abstract: The phenomenon of globalization did not arise as a result of deliberate actions, but it is a consequence of the simultaneous overlapping of many phenomena in the modern world. The acceleration of the development of globalization was primarily influenced by the development of technology and the improvement of the ways of transmitting information, goods and the population movements. The subject of this study is to present how the process of globalization affects international security. The aim of the work is to present the positive and negative impact of globalization on international security. In connection with the subject of the research and the purpose of the research, the main research problem arose, which was expressed in the form of the following question: What is the significance of the progressive globalization in the modern world on the international environment and the impact on global, regional and individual state security? The search for scientific solutions in relation to a specific main research problem required the adoption and solution of specific research problems: 1) What geopolitical conditions influenced the spread of globalization? 2) How positively does globalization affect the international environment and its security? 3) What is the negative impact of globalization on international security? The conducted preliminary research, the defined research goal and research problems determined the main hypothesis adopted for the research: The rapid development of globalization in the 21st century resulting from rapid technological progress affects the growth of positive and negative trends in the fi eld of international security. The assumptions of the article were verified by analyzing and critiquing the available literature on the subject.
