Summary/Abstract: Mihail Sebastian was not only a professional, but also a capable ideologist of the Romanian interwar novel. He had the intention of grouping all the remarks and ideological points of view in a comprehensive work devoted entirely to Romanian writing. Unfortunately, this project was not carried out. However, the writer's conception of the novel can be found in the numerous essays that were later included in the volume Esseuri. Cronici. Memorial. The present study is intended to be an analysis of Mihail Sebastian's critical studies on the Romanian interwar novel.
