Summary/Abstract: Especially known as a prose writer and dramatist, it is right to be remembered that Teodor Mazilu was also a memoirist. After mentioning the important predecessors in travel literature, the article analyzes the purposes of seeking such a refuge from loneliness for Mazilu, but also for others, the thematic and affective universe of his notes, the need for communication and the humor that accompanies him in these texts as well as in his whole literary work.
