Summary/Abstract: The world we live in is one of communicative interaction, of the advertising that assaults us every day. Even if advertising is ephemeral, its effect is lasting. The premise of this work is that advertisements are forms of discourse that make a significant contribution to the way we build our identity. By choosing this topic I set out to examine the breadth of the advertising discourse, so that I can define the communicational act that we name advertising. From the perspective of practical experience I tried a textual analysis focused on printed advertisements, combining the practical activity with the texts accompanied by comments to show how the messages are constructed. I analyzed the relationship between language and image, advertising strategies, literary and linguistic theory.
