Summary/Abstract: For 120 years the church was under the use of Orthodox believers of Greek origin. The construction of the edifice was in fact in close correlation, with the hosting of a Greek hierarch in Tulcea. It seems that this fact coincides with the interests of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, which wanted to maintain its authority over the Orthodox Christians in this area, that is, in the northern Dobrogean land.
