Summary/Abstract: Myths have always been a rich source of literary inspiration, the interpretations and forms they were given depending of time mentality and cultural space there are issued in, but also of the creator’s personality. Primary mythological motifs are common to all races and peoples, no matter the age and geographical space. The phenomenon that concerns the deconstruction of the human person and its replacement with a mythical man can be traced even from the Antiquity. Don Quijote de la Mancha is a novel rich in exploiting old myths, such as Ulysses. The medieval knight, Arcady, Orpheus, The Holy Grail, but it is, also, a novel that sends forward to other literary texts, for which it served as a model.
