Summary/Abstract: The study examines specific parenting upbringing patterns and parenting styles as determinants of childhood attachment style formation. Variations in parenting behavior, the degree of responsiveness and control, sensitive or insensitive care across different parenting styles, and their relationship to secure, ambivalent, avoidant, and disorganized attachment are analyzed. Some of the dimensions of culture have been identified as defining the patterns of behavior and cognitive perception of parents, upbringing practices and parenting styles in Bulgaria. In conclusion, the reciprocal influence of parenting style and infant temperament is established, ie. the parent-child interaction defines both the parenting style and the attachment style. The interdependence between cultural characteristics and parenting style, as well as between cultural features and attachment style in childhood is established.
