Summary/Abstract: A. L. Pogodin (1872-1947) was an eminent Russian Slavicist, Professor at the University of Kharkov and the author of numerous prominent works on the history and literature of Slavic peoples. He emigrated from Russia in 1919 and settled in Serbia where he worked as a Lecturer of Russian at the University of Belgrade. He continued his research there and resumed academic contacts with Czech scholars, namely with J. Polívka, L. Niederle, K. Kadlec, Č. Zíbrt, as well as with V. A. Francev, and he cooperated actively with the journal Slavia. The present discussion of those relations is founded on archival documents, mostly on A. L. Pogodin’s correspondence, kept in LA PNP (Prague, Czech Republic), CGMA (Kharkov, Ukraine) and RGALI (Moscow, Russian Federation).
