Summary/Abstract: Tort liability is the one of the basic types of civil liability specified in the Civil Code. The entities potentially liable for torts might be persons, legal persons and organizational units without legal personality. Therefore, the possibility of tort liability of administrators of public roads, including municipal roads, for dam- age also caused as a result of their poor condition is real. What is more, any breach of the law by administrators reveals important questions concerning the specific grounds and conditions for liability for damage. However, according to their potential plurality depending on factual situations, it would be pointless to discuss them all. For this reason, this article will present only selected elements of the matter.
