Summary/Abstract: Biste Primuti was a capable and successful merchant. He traded primarily with people from Kotor, Dubrovnik, Serbia, and Venice. He accumulated significant wealth, which he invested in the real estate in Kotor, Serbia, and Dubrovnik. He traded mostly in metals, especially copper. Due to his business capabilities, he acquired reputation and wealth, which enabled him to take part in diplomatic and other affairs in Serbia, at the court of the Serbian King Stefan Dečanski. One of the most prominent members of the court of the King Stefan Dečanski was the first Kotor citizen who administered the whole King’s possession, “the King’s house”. With Stefan Dečanski’s departure, Bista’s political career in Serbia ended, but not his business affairs.
