Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the way in which Romania and France have interacted between 1934 -1939, at the level of the European security system, in the light of the national security interests. This interaction wasn’t carried out in a regular fashion due to the fact that France, as one of the world’s greatest powers, had much more complex interests, the East-European space being for Paris a region where negotiation involving political and military influence could be carried out with the other top European players, including those who considered the ”Versailles system” to be anachronistic.
