Summary/Abstract: The perspective of Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine prove to be a re-emergence of a full scale, high intensity, long term war in Europe . A threat never considered after the fall of the Berlin wall, neither by the Alliance, nor by the member states . The idea of a full scale war as a threat could be challenged by the fact that Russia does no longer have resources to forge a full scale war on a NATO country, neither has another modern army untouched and ready to go, and will not have it in the near future. However, this perspective can no longer be ignore now after realising how unprepared is the Democratic World to face such a threat and that it needs itself some years to produce sufficient capabilities, ammunition and prepare reserves in order to face a future war or at least to support Ukraine in the ongoing one, in order to avoid it reaches NATO’s borders.
