Summary/Abstract: The ambiguous situation at the beginning of the Second World War also had repercussions on Romania. Romanian oil became a strategic element for the warring parties, both the Anglo-French allies and Germany. The national security policy determined the Romanian government to adopt correct decisions in accordance with the strategic objective of preserving the integrity of the state.
