Summary/Abstract: The publication represent a copy of an old printed book from 1723 year stored in the National library of Bulgaria. “Elephantographia curiosa” is about the elephant – myths and legends, methods of capturing and domesticating elephants, and their use in commerce, war, sport and entertainment. The book, written by Petri fon Hartenfels, is the second edition of the first monograph on the elephant ever printed.
