Summary/Abstract: One of the most impossible tasks I find in teaching is to get students to realize just how fragile is social order: its mutability, fragility and labile nature is something that is hard to convince students of. The aura of “givenness” is so strong as to elicit all the skill of poetics, drama, rhetoric and analysis to break through to them.
