Two-dimensional analysis of the carbon footprint of the Galati County community

Summary/Abstract: In the last few years, there has been a lot of talk around the term „carbon footprint”. The popularity of the carbon footprint concept is related to the current environmental issues. The increase of carbon dioxide levels in Earth’s atmosphere resulted the emergence of climate change. William Rees and Mathis Wackernagel utilized the term „carbon footprint” for describing the impact of the human production and consumption. The carbon footprint is seen as a concept nowadays. The carbon footprint and the ecological footprint are in a strong link because both terms measure the human impact. The calculation of the carbon footprint includes the calculation of the production or consumption for a product, service or even per person. The carbon depth is illustrated as a responsibility of the industrial countries that pollutes. The effects of the global warming made by the industrial countries has a huge impact on the poor countries.
